☆ Stardust rant. D:

I just saw the trailer for Stardust... And I have to say that it doesn't give me the same feeling as the novel. From the first 30 seconds, it already seemed too.. commercialized. :\

Claire Danes playing Yvaine is fine, but how she spoke her first words in the trailer already made me go DDDD: "Yeah! This is where I fell," and then she enthusiastically confirms Tristan's speculation of her being the star. Her portrayal didn't seem mysterious/ethereal to me. Dood, the star is not supposed to be happy that he's there! She's wary and suspicious of Tristan and is cold to him when they first meet. And Victoria is supposed to be cold to him too, but it seems like she's having fun being with him at the start of the trailer..AND Tristan actually prepares for the journey; he doesn't just jump through a crack in the wall without carrying anything. :\ But I think Michelle Pfeiffer was a good choice for the witch queen.

I don't know. I doubt they'll follow the story exactly, as most movie adaptations aren't in the habit of doing, but Gaiman still had a hand in making the screenplay, so I hope the movie can stick to the original story as much as possible.

Well, I'm still going to see it when it comes out in August. It just feels too Hollywood for a Gaiman novel. :\ ..Which reminds me, I still have to get my hands on Mirrormask.

The week that was... in pic spam! XD

Yup, another pic spam entry. I think I'm getting too lazy to write, ahahaha. XD

It was Karen's graduation on Thursday, and so I skipped a few hours of work the whole family went to Poveda to attend the whole ceremony under the hot gym roof. D: Each of the attendees had to wear a ribbon to get in. They had special yellow ribbons and seating arrangements for the parents, but I got a green "Guest" ribbon so the chairs were free for all! Good thing we arrived early, or else I'd probably be stuck in the back row. D: I mean, why are siblings only 'guests'?? Anyway, Janny and Chico attended too (which was so weird.. I mean, nice that they're being supportive and stuff, but weird..)

(On to the pics!)
Ah yeah. Graduation dinner was fun. XD And Karen was all smiles that whole night! I don't think she expected Janny to come actually want to attend. But yeah, that was surprising, even for me. XD

[break=Caterpillar maki?]On Friday, we had a photoshoot at work for our upcoming products. And like I've said before, one of the great things about working in a restaurant is all that FOOOOOD. After the photoshoot, we stuffed ourselves with sushi & maki, because it would have been a waste to just throw it away, of course. XD Then our sushi chef came into the room with something he called Caterpillar Maki, because.. well, just look at it. XD It's not part of our lineup, but he just made it with the leftovers. I think it looks cute. :3

[break=Grey snow??]On Saturday night, Karen received a graduation present from our uncle--A Persian cat named Snowy. X333 He's so floofy! X333 Snowy originally belonged to my uncle, but a few months after he got him, my uncle realized that he was allergic. ^_^' And since Karen's been wanting a cat, he gave it to her. The first few nights with us, he was really aloof and hiding all over the house, but he seems like he's getting more comfortable with us & his new home. :3

Early Sunday morning, Karen was finally free enough to join mom and I for a day trip to Tanay. [break=Are you tired of these yet? Lol!] Don't worry, I wasn't much of a shutterbug this time. I just took pics of the little waterfall thing beside the house, because they finally turned it on. And the flowers (lilies?) were finally in bloom, too! So here's the result of my affinity for flowers and amateur photography.

SO. That was my week. ^^ Of course it also came with its stressful moments, but they weren't enough to dampen my mood. :D

Oh! And I was able to contact my friend Herb who lives in Japan! She's actually here in the Philippines for a while, and she said she'd give me a call soon. XD ONE STEP CLOSER TO BUDOUKAN!! XDDD

Oh happy day! ♥♥♥

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

SEPTEMBER IS A BEAUTIFUL MONTH.
BUDOUKAN IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE.

2007.09.07 - GAZETTE [STACKED RUBBISH] TOUR FINAL (1ST LEG) in Budoukan
2007.09.08 - PLASTIC TREE [ZERO] 10TH ANNIVERSARY LIVE in Budoukan

BUT SEPTEMBER IS IN 6 MONTHS.
I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN SAVE UP ENOUGH MONEY IN 6 MONTHS.
IF NOT, I'LL HAVE TO FOREGO THE 10TH ANNIV PURA CONCERT AND GO IN NOVEMBER INSTEAD, AND CATCH THE SECOND LEG OF GAZETTE'S TOUR.
(Yeah, I speak as if I've already secured tickets for both)
(...Maybe if I find a cozy storage room in Budoukan and just hide out there so I can see both concerts...)
(*smacks self* NO I'm not THAT desperate, lol)

T__________T

Herb... can I live with you in September? Lol!

..forgive my f-page spamming.. ;_;

prom vids

Our church's youth ministry had a post-Valentines event last Saturday called "Red Promenade Blue Masquerade". I haven't posted the pictures yet, but I did manage to take some videos of the performances of some of our youth bands. ^_^

(embedded videos behind the cut)
